BIOGRAPHY
Semuta proves that psychedelic rock is still reinventing itself. The band previously made a name for themselves as Zuster Zonnebloem, performing at hundreds of shows at renowned stages and festivals. Music magazine OOR hailed them as flagbearers of the Dutch psychedelic rock scene. The five-piece is flawlessly attuned to one another, allowing every note to burst from the stage with passion and chemistry. Intense, groovy, energetic and bold, Semuta shakes you up and then lingers on in your mind.
In April 2026 Semuta released their album The Circle Ends Where It Began, celebrated with a release show in Amsterdam and a clubtour throughout The Netherlands. The record shows broad influences from hard rock to soul and from blues to indie, with psychedelic rock as its common thread. The album takes you on a journey towards better times, exploring themes such as sexism, capitalism, religion and the societal norm. The band worked with Grammy-nominated producer Attie Bauw (Judas Priest, Scorpions, De Staat).
